Coffee brand Buzzy pours into Austin Whole Foods for Texas first coffee


A delicious latte is prepared at the flagship location of the Whole Foods Market in Austin.

Opening in early December, just in time for Austin’s “cold” season, a vibrant new addition will warm the downtown Whole Foods market on North Lamar Boulevard and Sixth Street: La Colombe.

The popular Philadelphia-based coffee brand, known for its signature classic blends, single-origin coffees, pressure lattes and cold brews, will open a cafe within Whole Foods at 525 N. Lamar Blvd., marking the company’s first coffee shop in Texas.

The entrance to the cafe is under the aegis of the Friends of Whole Foods Market program, which brings outside chefs and culinary and lifestyle brands to shoppers with the goal of creating more innovative in-store experiences.

La Colombe’s new independent retail and café space within Whole Foods will feature a 234 square foot café bar designed to showcase the brand’s signature European-inspired style, and will feature a mix of woodwork, of white marble, black granite, blackened steel and metro. floor tile.

While many Austinians recognize the brand’s canned lattes, cold brews and ground coffees, which already fill the shelves at Whole Foods stores and other retailers in Austin, the new La Colombe café offers the chance to experience some company drinks on tap. .

The café will feature a full menu, including its signature cold brew, Draft Latte and Oatmilk Draft Latte on tap, as well as rotating bar offers like La Colombe’s single origin coffees and blends, available in espresso and drop versions. by drop. . Additionally, a rotating selection of 12-ounce cans of La Colombe’s Corsican, Monaco, Nice, Lyon and Africa blends will also be available, as will baked goods from Austin’s beloved bakery Swedish Hill.

La Colombe currently owns and operates 30 cafes in Philadelphia; New York; Chicago; Boston; Los Angeles; San Diego; and Washington, DC, and plans to open additional locations and enter new markets by the end of 2022.
