Good news for the environment?
Jan 21st
As seen on Kuro5hin:
A New Brunswick inventor thinks he has found a new, cheap way to produce hydrogen gas.
Does this mean we might see environment-friendly cars sooner than expected? Or do we still have to wait for the oil reserves to disappear so that oil companies cannot lobby against more fuel-efficient and/or alternative energy cars? Why can’t oil companies see that they might as well invest in new energies such as hydrogen since betting the farm on oil alone isn’t going to cut it forever…
Breaking the habit
Jan 21st
Every night before going to bed, I make a point of summing up my day and try to decide what I will try to do the next day. It also happens that ideas come to me while lying in bed, waiting for sleep to take me away… Since I am ever so forgetful, I devised a little stratagem to trick my mind into remembering things that I want to be able to remember the next morning: I move my watch or my glasses away from the spot where they usually rest for the night.
It’s fairly efficient: by moving the item, I cannot pick it up automatically when I wake up the next day. I therefore need to think about where it is and this very simple act triggers, by association, the memory of what it was I was trying to remember when I decided to move the item from its usual spot…
To go meta- on this, I displaced my watch to remember posting about this yesterday…
Closing Safari tabs
Jan 21st
I used to have a rather interesting post here about how I spent lots of time trying to close tabs that I opened in Safari with stuff I wanted to read about but that generally I open more tabs that I can close. Sometimes, Safari would crash and I would loose all my tabs: this being quite annoying but also allowing me to start with a clean slate thus saving me time.
However, thanks to MoveableType shitty comment erasing interface I have lost the original text of this post which had been replaced by the text of the comment I was trying to erase. This post has thus been replaced by this statement that MoveableType sucks.
I knew this would be coming

iMovie was used to edit a movie presented at Sundance. Watch for GarageBand tunes at the next Grammy Awards! See comments for more details.
