Chris vs. Christophe (me vs. me)

So, I decided to do some quick navel gazing and ego surfing by Googling my name, as I tend to do once in a while when I think about it. While it might seem vain, it’s not a bad practice once in a while to check that the information that people can find on you is conform to what you’d like them to see.

It’s quite interesting, though a little disconcerting, to see that, while all the top results in a Google query for my ‘real’ name (Christophe Laprun) still find pieces of ‘me’, these bits are less relevant than those More >

Ugh, I disappeared again…

For some reason, I just haven’t been interested in posting here. I have ideas but just let them slip, for now… In the mean time, go read my latest post on the dearth of open source JSR 168 portlets on JBoss Portal’s official blog.

Back from Europe

I have spent almost a month in France, with a stop in London. Having the chance of being able to work from anywhere I can get internet access (thanks Red Hat!) allowed me to spend more time there than I had been able to in a long time. It was a very nice change of scenery (and well need mindset) and was able to do more things than usual. I will try to post about my trips in future post as I upload pictures on Flickr as well (already up are some London pictures). More later!

First post on JBoss Portal’s blog

I have finally posted a post on JBoss Portal’s developer blog. It’s a short but sweet opinion piece about how iPhone’s support for full-fledged web browsing and Apple’s SDK stance could be an opportunity for Portal developers.

In other news, we (as in the Portal team) have been busy working on the GA release of JBoss Portal 2.6. This work should bear fruits real soon now and it has lots of new, cool features along with improvements all over. Watch JBoss Portal’s blog for an announcement soon.

Updated to WordPress 2.1

I finally updated the software running this blog to WordPress 2.1 and, since it had been a while, it took me quite some time to port over all my plugins with the clumsy cPanel file manager… It seems like all went well but, in case it didn’t, let me know.

For all you spammer wannabees who seem so interested in this post, don’t bother, this blog runs on the latest version of Wordpress…

Beware!

The Problem with Wikipedia:

The potentially enormous loss of time (I don’t consider it ‘wasted’) that can occur when starting to look at Wikipedia is something that I addressed in one of my very first posts… and is perfectly captured in the above drawing! I haven’t posted here in a while, so summoning memories of my beginning in blogging might start the engine back up!

Moved again…

This time virtually, not physically. Codepuccino has moved to a new hosting company (thanks Jerome ^_^).

Been quite busy lately (as you might be able to tell by the posting time of this blog) but I managed to squeeze in a couple of concerts. I missed Belle and Sebastian at the 930 club (though I managed to get the audio from NPR’s All Songs Considered) and I missed the Arctic Monkeys last night (damn!) but once again, NPR pulled through and recorded the show! Thanks, NPR! (I should really consider a donation). I managed to see Metric (who were, once again, excellent) and will be More >
