Safari trick

Just discovered that today: drag and drop a link from an app that supports link dragging to an empty spot of the Safari tab bar: the link will open in a new tab! Neat.

Apple launches ADC Reference Library

The Apple Developer Connection has launched the ADC Reference Library, a new developer support tool that aims to make it easier to use the repository of technical information and sample code available from Apple… [MacMinute]

Check out the article Making the Most of the ADC Reference Library and be sure to provide feedback!

MHz, schMHz…

After years of emphasizing clock speed, Intel is trying to come up with new metrics to measure a processor’s capabilities… Who’s having the last laugh now?

Spoken Interface

Really interesting stuff: not only will it help users but it will also help developers make their interface more accessible by providing them with an easy way to check the accessibility of their applications.

I remember having said more interesting stuff here but MoveableType shitty comment erasing interface resulted in the text of this post being replaced by the text of the comment I was trying to erase. This post has thus been re-created from memory.

TouchStream MacNTouch

Has anyone tried one of these? I wonder if it’s really that easy to get use to it and if it does provide the interaction benefits that it’s supposed to.

Also: do they glow when light is low like the AlBook keyboard?

Pepsi iTunes bottles

Apparently, the circulation of winning Pepsi bottles has started! Free iTunes, here I come!

Happy 20th!

Today is the Macintosh’s 20th birthday! Not much more to say that hasn’t already been said. My first computer was an Apple ][c, back in the days and I am proud to say that I never bought a computer (with my own money that is, work is different) that wasn’t an Apple.

The Mac, and Apple more generally, is a big reason why I got into Computer Science in the first place so in a certain way, it shaped my life. So Happy Birthday and Thank You!!

A very interesting site on the Macintosh’s folklore by Andy Hertzfeld via Jonathan Rentzsch, via Scott Knaster… Oh boy! Apple goodness!

Even Bill Gates wishes Mac a happy 20th…

Uh-oh…

Big trouble: iTunes Music Store has RSS feeds that you can customize to get notified of new releases! Maybe I should set up an allowance for myself so that I don’t go in deficit over this (or should I just pretend like Bush is trying to pull off that my next budget will solve this little iTunes crisis?)…

Modern-day katana…

I have my modern-day katana: do you?

According to Penny Arcade, the iPod is the modern-day equivalent of the Samurai sword. So not only your music tastes can ruin your social status, but the device used to listen to your music has also an influence? Owning an iPod is still slightly exclusive and I can’t help but feel somehow connected to people I see sporting white earbuds: it is so much so that some people just buy white earbuds and plug them into any device that stays hidden so that they can be pretend to be part of the in-crowd… Wouldn’t the widespread success of the iPod limit this phenomenon, though?

Jack into my iPod, so I can slash you with my electro beats! :)

I knew this would be coming

iMovie was used to edit a movie presented at Sundance. Watch for GarageBand tunes at the next Grammy Awards! See comments for more details.

I used to have a rather interesting post here but MoveableType shitty comment erasing interface resulted in the text of this post being replaced by the text of the comment I was trying to erase. This post has thus been replaced by this generic statement that MoveableType sucks.
